Greek Public Libraries

Sign against the closure of Greek Public Libraries

The Association of Greek Librarians and Information Scientists (EEBEP) has launched a campaign for trying to avoid a hypothetical closure and merging of public libraries in Greece. In a context of profound economical crisis, public libraries can play an important role in the communities, offering services that will help the people cope with the situation: from supporting the job seek process to offering internet access. They also help integrating the vulnerable communities making coexistence possible… It’s an extraordinarily democratic space, a loss that we can’t afford.
